Malope trifida 'Vulcan'
Malope trifida 'Vulcan'
With its southern roots, this beautiful flower feels surprisingly at home in our region. Vulcan grows into a sturdy plant that's covered all summer long in satiny-soft flowers in a deep red hue. It's a real eye-catcher in the border, and in the cutting garden, it produces long stems for bouquets that will bring you joy.
Bees and butterflies love it – your garden will be buzzing with life. Give it a sunny spot in airy, well-drained soil and make sure the plants have some room to breathe. This will keep them strong and healthy.
And a golden tip: the more you pick, the more it will grow back. Regularly pruning or removing spent flowers will extend the blooms well into late summer. For the gourmets: the flowers are even edible and look wonderfully extravagant as a garnish on a plate.
